grade

[edit]

The story is that he got a C on the paper he wrote at Yale not an F. In a recent Fortune article he said he couldn't actually remember what he made and that the story comes from an offhanded remark he made at some point "I was asked what grade I got on it, and I stupidly said, 'I guess I got my usual gentlemanly C.' That stuck, and it's become a well-known story because everybody likes to flout authority. But to be honest, I don't really remember what grade I got. I probably didn't get a very good one, though, because it wasn't a well-thought-out paper." Link to the Fortune article [1]

So can we remove that erroneous quote?--MarkO 23:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't believe Frederick Smith would allow his company to hire crooks and thiefs. All I want is to have Fedex accept responsibility for their dirtbag driver for stealing my stuff and then trying to bring it back before he got caught. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.232.199.139 (talk) 15:00, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To: Mr Fred Smith, CEO FedEx, please help this frail 78-year old retiree trying to live a mere social security income. Your International security officer is sitting on my package that should have been returned to my residence long ago. Tracking number is: 780066622012. Please help me. Libertarian cat

[edit]

Hi, I removed the Libertarian cat as there is no assertion made about Smith's political beliefs in the article. --Deville (Talk) 00:13, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CEO

[edit]

Fred is co-chair with the CEO of Waste Management on the dangers for Americas dependence on oil.

The group is known as the Energy Security Leadership Council, also called for increasing U.S. oil and natural gas exploration, saying that could add 1 million to 2 million barrels of oil per day to the nation's supply. "Republicans need to accept sensible increases in vehicle fuel efficiency standards and Democrats must be willing to allow responsible expansion of oil exploration and production," said Fred Smith,

I would like someone to verify and concur with all data provided.

These contributions are not a conflict of interest. I did not write the Memphis Commercial Appeal story about Fred Smith's forgery indictment. The documentation is clear and provided by entities other than myself. The indictment and two fatal hit and runs are facts.

Indictment and Fatal Hit and Run

To read the full 1975 Commercial Appeal story concerning Fred Smith's indictment and fatal hit and run, I have posted a copy of the article I obtained from the Benjamin Hooks Central Library archive in Memphis here:
